Hi I’m Nia,

and I am finding answers one drawing at a time.

I’m based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Through emotionally ambiguous characters and crowded scenes, I invite viewers to spend a little more time looking around and coming to their own conclusions. My work reflects on identity, the mundanity of life, and the ways people move through modern society. I often explore questions through playful imagery, and I’m interested in how drawings can carry meaning beyond their beauty. My work combines humor and curiosity in ways that feel both approachable and reflective.

I’ve worked with The New York Times Magazine, ASICS, and ParagonCorp, and I’m interested in bringing illustration into larger public and spatial experiences.

My favourite pastime is staying on top of pop culture and Internet trends. Besides scrolling through TikTok, I’ll spend my downtime reading books or enjoying quality time with my friends.
